BoostEDU is a four step process – but this doesn’t mean that you have to follow all four steps. As you use these resources, feel free to pick and choose the resources that work best for you and your lesson design process. If that means simply using the self-assessment, go for it! This is all about you and your professional development.
The first step of the BoostEDU process is simple: find a lesson, activity, or project that you would like to review. Ideally, this will be a lesson that you have previously taught and or created. It’s so important for teachers to see that they do not need start from the beginning. Instead, you can modify or “boost” your current lesson!
In the second step, you will complete a self-assessment of an original lesson to determine your current level of SAMR/ISTE/4 C’s within your lesson. During the survey, you will be able select suggestions and tech tools to “boost” your lesson based upon your response. These results will be emailed to you in an editable Google Doc.
In the third step, you will use an online, interactive form to transform your original lesson based on your results from the self-assessment. The form will be interactive and offer suggestions for technology integration to assist you in building this boosted lesson. When you submit the form, you will receive a digital copy of your lesson plan.
The last step is all about collaboration! In this step, you will have the opportunity to share your self-assessment results and “boosted” lesson on a Google Plus Community. After your lesson is complete, you can share the lesson on the BoostEDU website for other teachers to access and use.
